We enjoyed our stay near great attractions, especially the Iowa State Fair just minutes away! The location was perfect for exploring downtown Des Moines and enjoying family-friendly activities. The breakfast selection was also a hit with the kids, offering a variety of tasty options.
My kids wished the pool area was cleaner and better maintained for families. It would be great if they could improve the pool environment to make it more family-friendly.

comfortable stay but some areas need improvement
The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas stood out, with no odors noticeable during my stay. The breakfast offered a variety of options that were quite enjoyable, making mornings pleasant.
However, the elevator had a bit of an unpleasant smell that detracted from the overall experience.

missingWrote a review on Aug 10cozy alcoveconvenient proximitycleaning issues
Convenient proximity to events at the fairgrounds simplifies your stay. The King suite features a cozy alcove with a couch perfect for relaxing after a day out.
Check-in process felt disorganized with long waits and insufficient staffing during peak times. The general cleanliness of the hotel raised concerns, from stained carpets and dirty hallways to poorly maintained bathrooms. The air conditioning issues were particularly notable. it quit on a hot day, necessitating reliance on a fan for relief, which wasn't ideal. Additionally, breakfast options were minimal with reheated items and limited seating, making it tough for families to start their day smoothly.

Clean rooms and friendly staff stood out during my stay. The free breakfast offered a variety of options, including tasty English muffins. However, the pool area had a dated feel, and I noticed a strong chlorine odor permeating the lobby. Furthermore, the uncomfortable mattresses and dubious cleanliness in some areas detracted from the overall experience.

We enjoyed our stay with clean rooms and a spacious bathroom that had handy grab bars and a bench in the tub. The pool area was a great spot to relax, and the hot tub was perfectly warm after a long day. The only downside was some areas needing a little more attention, but it didn’t dampen our overall experience. 😊

The room was decent but felt kinda dated. The bed was a bit springy, yet still comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. The pillows were okay, but nothing special. I wish there had been a closet or hanging space for clothes. Road noise was a bit annoying at night, and the heating/cooling system was louder than I’d like. It was clean overall, though, so that was a plus.

Cold shower, warm beds
The room was clean and cozy, but my shower experience was like an ice bath, seriously! I felt like I was fighting the Arctic when I turned on the water. Also, the wifi was super spotty, which is a bummer when you need to check in. Breakfast options were limited to oatmeal, not too exciting.
